Big New UCs From Google, Cisco, RingCentral, Ribbon, and Deltapath

From selling stocks to celebrating milestones to free Teams voice calls, here are some popular news snippets from this week.

The unified communications and collaboration application “RingCentral MVP” has passed the milestone of five million paid seats.

RingCentral believes that its MVP (Message, Video, Phone) solution has exceeded market expectations, and this milestone is a validation of the company’s decision to invest in unified communications and enterprise mobility.

The news was announced by RingCentral CEO Vlad Shmunis during his company’s earnings conference call last week.

Zeus Kerravala, Principal Analyst at ZK Researchsaid, “Reaching five million seats sold for RingCentral MVP is a major milestone.

“It’s amazing to think of the upcoming market opportunity with more than several hundred million legacy on-premises seats.

“It shows that we are still in the early stages of digital transformation as companies migrate their communication systems to the cloud. »

Other stats highlighted by Shmunis include the fact that the company now has an annualized recurring revenue (ARR) of $2 billion and the RingCentral contact center racks up over $250 million ARR.

Google has confirmed that Workspace Individual is now available to users in Europe.

The company launched the platform over a year ago to help solo business owners reach new customers and bring their ideas to life.

Google Workspace Individual includes all features of the Workspace platform, such as Gmail, Meet, Calendar, Slide, etc.

John Shriver-Blake, Group Product Manager, Google Workspacesaid:

“With this expansion of Google Workspace Individual, individual business owners in Europe can manage, grow and protect their businesses with apps they already know.

“That means more time helping customers and less time planning, emailing and updating calendars. In the coming months, we will continue to integrate Workspace Individual with a growing list of countries. »

Despite launching over a year ago, Workspace Individual was only available to customers in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, and Australia.

Cisco’s Q4 2022 results beat analysts’ forecasts, with Webex by Cisco ending the quarter leading in revenue and beating expectations.

The company’s total revenue was $13.10 billion, beating the high end of its forecast range and expectations of $12.73 billion. Earnings were 83 cents per share, also better than the 82 cents per share expected by analysts polled by Refinitiv.

The collaboration segment, which includes Webex by Cisco, grew 2%, contributing $1.16 billion in revenue and beating StreetAccount’s consensus of $1.10 billion.

Chuck Robbins, President and CEO, said collaboration was driven by device growth, but was also hampered by declining meeting and calling offers. Robbins elaborated on the collaboration segment in more detail: “I will say that teams work very hard on meetings and calls.

“The call side has been strong for us over the last few quarters. The product portfolio is in very good condition.

“The Net Promoter Score for our meetings platform is now 64, and that represented 1 million customer responses, so it’s a vastly improved experience.

“This year the teams are really focused on trying to bring that back to growth, but we have a lot of work to do. »

In the last quarter, Cisco launched collaboration solutions, including a video desk phone and noise cancellation software for Webex.

Ribbon Communications raised $52 million from the sale of its stock to help pay debts and increase working capital.

The stock was sold as a private placement to selected investors, including Neuberger Berman and some of the company’s largest shareholders, such as JPMorgan Chase and Swarth Group.

The communications software company said it would issue approximately 17 million shares in the private placement at $3.05.

Mick Lopez, CFO at Ribbon Communicationssaid: “We are very grateful for the additional investment made by our and new shareholders.

“The new capital will provide the company with additional financial flexibility as we implement our strategy of investing in product development and driving near-term profitable growth. »

Evercore Group acted as sole placement agent for the private placements, and B. Riely Securities acted as financial advisor to Ribbon.

The securities have not been offered in the United States because they have not been registered under the Securities Act and other required securities laws.

Deltapath offers free Microsoft Teams voice calls for Microsoft 365 E1 and E3 users.

The solution, Deltapath Talk for Microsoft Teams, allows users to initiate audio and video calls and switch between chat and phone.

The app integrates into the sidebar of Microsoft Teams, providing an easy-to-access dial pad for users to place calls.

David Liu, Founder and CEO of Deltapathsaid, “Deltapath simplifies the decision for companies considering adding voice to Microsoft Teams.

“We offer free telephony services to MS Teams users on E1 and E3 subscriptions using the Deltapath UC platform.

“Not only does our offering add voice for free, but businesses don’t need to purchase a Teams Phone license.

“It’s how Deltapath helps businesses move forward and become more successful without increasing expenses during these uncertain economic times. »

Deltapath finds that some businesses don’t use Teams due to licensing costs, domestic and international calling plan prices, and software and hardware installation expenses.
