Igor Tudor was again under fire from critics after the draw this Sunday in Brest (1-1). On Amazon Prime Video, Thierry Henry returned to the method put in place by the Croatian coach. According to him, the new OM coach has good ideas but must adapt to the Marseille context.
Heavily criticized during the preparation, Igor Tudor silenced the critics after the big victory against Reims. The draw conceded in Brest and the level of play offered by Marseille once again weakened the Croatian coach. On Amazon Prime Video, Thierry Henry provided his analysis of the method used by Igor Tudor. According to him, this method can be risky with new generation players. He states that Tudor will not be afraid to tell the truth to his players if he deems it necessary. Henry also returned to Tudor’s time in Verona, but said that the context is very different and that Tudor will have to adapt to succeed on the OM bench.

Tudor, a coach who will not be afraid to mince his words
It’s not always easy with the new generation, a coach with a strong character like Tudor. For having rubbed shoulders with him at Juventus, I think they came across a coach who will not be afraid to mince his words. If he has to say something to someone he will say it. If the players are not ready to hear what he has to say to them, they can sit on the bench or in the stands. His method worked well in Hellas Verona. Today, without offending Verona, it’s not the same context, there are not the same players. Marseille is different. He is still a coach with clear ideas. » Thierry Henry – Source: Amazon Prime Video (08/16/2022)

Marc Libbra praises Tudor
Former OM player Marc Libbra returned last week in the columns of La Provence on the difficulties of OM during the pre-season and on the criticism suffered by Igor Tudor. He believes that the Croatian coach’s method can work in the long term and recalls that the season will be truncated by the World Cup in Qatar.
“When you’re a player and you’re taking a nap before the match, you can also be very afraid of the Tudor method… But, at the end of the match, you say to yourself: “In fact, it works! “The players will buy in. But it goes through very hard times. We must not forget that the season is truncated by the World Cup in Qatar and that he has prepared them to go until mid-November. » Marc Libbra – Source: Provence (09/08/2022)
